My boat is still for sale, I just wanted to remind you that if you know somebody looking for an incredible deal, this is the one for them. I will throw in a guiding trip for three for anyone helping in the sale of this package. Please let me know if anyone out there is interested.
My boat is for sale. Check it out here.
In comes the cold and out goes the hot Walleye bite. The bite has not completely shut down but it has turned to a typical mid-January type of bite.
We've been seeing short spurts throughout the day with the better bite coming that last hour of the day. This has been the story for the last week or so on many of the area lakes including Winnie.
We continue to find the larger structure located through the body of Winnie being the more procutive and consistent spot. While the larger areas are holding better numbers of Walleyes during the peak times, it seems that a number of jumbo Perch can be caught off the edges of these same structures.
So as the Walleye bite fades, many of the area lakes see the Crappie and panfish bite picking up speed. In fact, I have heard a number of excellent report come from Red Lake. Not only are the anglers gettting a good Walleye bite, but mix in some limits of those huge Crappies and what a trip.
Look for those Red Lake Walleyes nearly everywhere, but the Crappies are coming from more of the deeper water. Look for many of the rocks piles to hold good numbers of fish as well.
So as we look down the tunnel of January and see February sneaking up on us quickly, one can just say, what a Winter, and those warm open water days are just ahead of us.
See you on the water!
